IFASC 2014 International Fine Arts Student Congress (Istanbul)

We would like to invite you to the International Congress of the Students of Fine Arts, which will be held in Istanbul between 10-11th April 2014, on the behalf of our teacher Prof. Dr. Selahattin Yıldız – Dean of Fine Arts Faculty.

It would be a great pleasure and honor to host you and your students at Maltepe University, at our 5-star Marmara Congress Center (www.marmakongremerkezi.com) in Istanbul. Abstract submissions are due on 15 February 2014, with 300-400 words at most! There is NO Registration Fee for all participants. All expenses (such as meals, accommodation, transfers between airport and hotel, cultural tours, attending all conference sessions, workshops, presentations of keynote speakers, etc.) other than travel expenses will be provided by Maltepe University.

We’ll be very pleased if you would print (on A4 paper) and hang the Call-For-Paper document attached on the e-mail, on the clipboard of your faculty!

Call For Papers


“Youth and Art”

The Fine Arts Students Local Organizing Committee at Maltepe University is delighted to announce the opening of the call for papers for the ‘Youth and Art’ undergraduate students conference to be held at Maltepe University in Istanbul, on April 10-11, 2014.

The papers presented at the conference should discuss the theme of “Youth and Art”. In this context, the artist candidates, hence the students, trained in various fields of Art will discuss the effects of certain approaches changing through education, creativity, applied fields of arts and the effects of globalization on them or art as a professional field using scientific knowledge. We welcome submission for individual papers and panel proposals that should be addressing, but not limited to:


How do you define a person educated in the field of art? Student? Artist or Designer?
The Relationship between Education of Art and Its Professional Field
Globalization and Its Effects on Art
Art and Ideology
Newly emerging topics in the future of Art and Design
Creation Process, Its Problems and Proposals

Abstracts can be submitted via e-mail to ifasc@maltepe.edu.tr by 15 February 2014 and contain a clear outline of theoretical framework, the theme or the work in discussion.

The text of abstracts should be submitted in English ONLY, in a separate Word document in the following format: max. 300-400 words, 1.5 line spaced Arial (Plain) 11-point font (except for title which should be 14-point font), A4 size page formatting, with the page margins of 2.5 cm from the left, top and bottom and 2 cm from the right. The panels should not exceed four people and four different abstracts (200 words long), and should be prepared by each member of that specific panel.

We encourage lecturers, teachers and professors to circulate this call widely across your undergraduate students, as this will be a unique occasion to visit the city of Istanbul. Participating students will be joining fellow students from Turkey and across the world to debate the raising issues in the area of fine arts in a conference organized by students for students, with the support of staff at Maltepe University’s Faculty of Fine Arts.

There is NO Registration Fee. Participants attending the conference will be hosted by the Maltepe University at our 5-star Marmara Congress Centre (www.marmakongremerkezi.com). All other expenses will be provided by Maltepe University.

Accommodation , meal and cultural tour are provied by the congress.

Free accommodation is limited for 3 days.
